The Fibre Atlantic Cable System, a project initiated by SemanticNet, is a new transatlantic submarine cable system created to provide wholesale, media and high-bandwidth customers with secure Ethernet, wavelengths and Dark Fiber services. Fibre Atlantic opens up a new diverse route between Virginia Beach and Bordeaux, France; a unique cable route not crossing another transatlantic cable system and bypassing major congestion points. It will utilize the newest technologies available to offer the highest capacity possible across the Atlantic. Fibre Atlantic will be ready for service in 2019.
